This module intends to provide understanding of a wide range of building components

with different functions. It also describes the design process, how to build the elements

and some simple sketches. Student will undergo continuous assessments such as

assignments and tests to ascertain the objectives and to make sure that the learning out

come of the module is achieved

 

 

 

Assignment 1

 

 

Task：

We were required to take a buildings that as the object of study in this assignment.This is a group assignment, we have 5 members. We have chosen Paradigm Mall as our assignment' s building. We need to produce:

 

Part 1 :

Illustrate the type of building with plan / sketches / photo / diagrams. 

 

Part 2 :

Identify and explain the

(i) type of foundation

(ii) type of slab 

(iii) type of roof of the building with sketched / photo / diagrams

 

Part 3 :

Compare and contrast with TWO (2) other types and recommend an alternative

to replace the existing type of

(i) foundation

(ii) slab

In this assignment, we need to be able to identify and explain the structure of the whole buildings including the

type foundation, slab and roof.Besides that, I was able to put theories that I learnt during lectures and tutorials

into implementation as I was able to exchange a more suitable materials to built the roof structure of this

building. 

 

 

                     Morever,this assignment help us to develop and reinforce our thinking and problem solving skills by thinking                              critically in order for us to overcome each hurdles that we faced while accomplishing the project.When we face the                     difficult things or problem,we can able to solve it.

 

Communication is the necessity for this assignment because this is a group assignment, we need to

communicate with other group member and discuss the structural of the building. It can improve our

communicated skills and promote our relationship.
