Task

In this assignment, we are supposed to measure the complete taking off for the structural building. This is a group assignment, so we are divided into 5 person to measure each.

 

1. External wall element

2. Internal wall element 

3. External wall finishes 

4. Internal wall finishes

5. Floor finishes and ceiling finishes including skirting 

 

I was arranged to measure the floor finishes and ceiling finishes.

 

 

Learning Outcome:

 

In ths assignment, we are able to measure the drawing and need to know  the principles, purpose and function

of Standard Method of Measurement (SMM2) including measurement principles, descriptions and standard

phraseology. Futhermore, we have learnt the measurement of  brickworks, stud partitions, staircase structure,

staircase finishes and balustrading, floor, wall and ceiling finishes and precast concrete piling during the lecture

and tutorial, these are all necessity for us when measuring this assignment.

 

                        Morever,this assignment help us to develop and reinforce our thinking and problem solving skills by thinking                           critically in order for us to overcome each hurdles that we faced while accomplishing the project.When we                           face the difficult things or problem,we can able to solve it.

 

 

Communication is the necessity for this assignment because this is a group assignment, we need to

communicate with other group member and discuss the details of the drawing. It can improve our

communicated skills and promote our relationship.
