22/11/2014 Scholar@work - Alumni Welcome Party
I am a scholar in Taylor University Lakeside, so I have to work 84 hour to pay back to school.This is the first event that I had participated.The objectives of event is to give the graduates an unforgettable and enjoyable graduation memory,to gain awareness/branding through mouth of words/social media and to welcome the graduates as alumni member. This event is organized by Mr. Bryan.
This is the decoration of Grand Hall.
I was an usher in this party. I really enjoyed in this party. I would like to thank Taylor for me the chance to participate this event and Mr.Bryan for organizing this party.This is a good experience to learn the communication skills and courageous to talk with a stranger. My communication skills has improved obviously. Besides that, I had known some new friends through this party, this expanded my circle of friends.

21/11/2014 Site Visit
Miss Ang Fuey Lin ,Miss Asihah and Miss Azrina were the organizer of this site visit and we supposed to do an assignment that involves the three modules that is Measurement 1, Construction Technology 1, and Building Materials. We are only restricted at the perimeter around the construction site and not allowed to enter the building site because we are not covered under the insurance. The construction is under Pasukhas Construction Sdn Bhd and it located at Bandar Sunway which is besides the Taylor’s University Lakeside. It is going to build 2 block of 27-storey Soho Duplex and 28-storey of serviced apartments and others. Before the visit we were required to have safety helmet for precautions when visiting the site.
Task
Our task is basically to produce a report on the construction site based these few elements:-
(a) Objective
(b) Content or Technical Observations
(c) Photos and description
(d) Learning outcome or conclusion

This trip help me to understand more of the things that I cannot learn in class and now I can more easy to image the actual thing when I study for. Besides that, I had experience actual work and the working environment on site as a Quantity Surveyor through tis site visit. I learnt to apply what we study in class to the reality life and the actual work. This allow us to have the awareness of importance of safety on site and understanding of safety problems and site condition
In addition,communication is the necessity for this assignment because this is a group assignment, we need to
communicate with other group member and ask the details of the building. It can improve our
communicated skills and promote our relationship.I also learnt how to communicate with the construction
team members on site and know the importance of teamwork in the building team.
04/10/2014 A Lecture about Green Card......
Green card is an integrated program that involves the registration and accreditation of
Construction Personnel to enhance safety levels at Construction work sites. As a quantity
surveyor, we always need to go to sites, so we need the green card to enhance the safety.
This lecture is tell us about the aware of the importance a safe and healthy working place and
provide a basic knowledge on safety and health at the Construction work site.
I would like to express my gratitude to the lecturer to inform us the legal requirements in
relation to safety and health and tell us that I was automatically covered by a special Insurance
Scheme that insures the Construction Personnel against death and accidents when I work on
site as a quantity surveyor in future.
